Embedded Firmware Engineer

Own the firmware that runs on our low-power sensors, cellular modems, and edge compute gateways.

Remote (US) / Dallas, TXFull-timeHybrid$130,000 - $175,000

About the role

Our hardware lives on remote leases with bad power and worse connectivity. You will write the firmware that keeps it reliable: low-power sampling, store-and-forward telemetry, OTA updates, and cellular/Starlink failover logic that never loses a reading.

What you'll do

  • ▸Develop and maintain C/C++ firmware for ARM Cortex-M sensor nodes
  • ▸Build robust store-and-forward and OTA update paths over LTE and Starlink
  • ▸Optimize power budgets for multi-year battery and solar deployments
  • ▸Work directly with EE and mechanical on new hardware bring-up
  • ▸Instrument devices so field failures are diagnosable remotely

What we're looking for

  • ▸4+ years embedded C/C++ on resource-constrained MCUs
  • ▸Hands-on with LTE-M / NB-IoT / cellular modem AT stacks or equivalent
  • ▸Experience with RTOS, MQTT, and low-power design
  • ▸Comfortable with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and real bring-up work
  • ▸Bonus: industrial or oil & gas telemetry experience

Benefits

  • ▸Remote-friendly with quarterly field trips
  • ▸Health, dental, and vision
  • ▸Home lab and equipment budget
  • ▸Equity participation
